Anyways, I'm almost done with the career agents and am getting ready to go off into the game. I really want to get into PVP, probably small sized to start with, but really have no idea where to begin. I've talked to a few corps through the recruitment channel, but it seems that they all want people with more SP, which seems reasonable.
So with my goal in mind, I'm trying to figure out what I should do in the mean time, while I wait for my SP counter to go up. Is the Sisters of Eve arc worth doing? I've read some say that the rewards are lackluster. Can I do anything in low-sec on my own? Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks.
What type of PvP would you like to get into? This does matter.
You say you want to start small... so Nullsec is probably out and with it BNI as a potential option. Although, if you wanted to get into Nullsec quickly, I would join BNI.
For Lowsec you really only have two main choices: FW or piracy, or both (okay so three). FW can be a lot of fun, but join a corp that's in FW, they tend to be more involved and more of a tight-knit group of players; and I want to say that many of the corps involved in FW would be smaller in size and might be what you're looking for.
IMO Piracy opens up more doors for Lowsec and Highsec alike as you'll have more targets. The main issue here is eventually your sec status will begin to fall making it difficult to travel through Highsec. To me piracy is more fun, but it might not be your thing. I would talk to someone from R1FTA if you were interested in Lowsec piracy.
Highsec piracy is another option and because of the New Order's SRP program won't hurt the wallet. However, that is something that would break your sec status.. a lot faster than Lowsec piracy. If this is something you would be interested you, send me an email.
There are also Highsec wardecc'ing corps... but honestly I would try something else first. The positive attribute here though is that it's in Highsec and probably not very far from a trade hub if you needed to fit another ship for a decent price, whereas Lowsec and Nullsec would be more expensive unless you had a dedicated logistical backbone; and even then it would probably be more expensive.
HTH and email me in-game if there are any questions.
GL with where you decide to go, Eve Online PvP is a lot fun.
